Now that the windows are clean, I've put up some new kitchen curtains. Bought them on line. Found them on clearance at Irv's Country Tinware. Like the fact that they are three layers. The green and tan will look good through Christmas and the price was right. Thought you might like a photo.

I've started this blog to share with you all my little secrets regarding home decorating, home care (not housekeeping) and little tidbits I've learned along the way to make my home more peaceful and serene. The "Eclucktic Hen" is my way of combining eclectic information with information to "feather your nest." Let me know what you think.

Today is a beautiful autumn day, but winter will soon be here. It is a great day for a little fall window washing, to let in more of that winter sun. Here is my all time great window washing recipe. I fill a spray bottle and have this on hand at all times. Works great on all glass and mirrors.

2 quarts water
2 drops liquid dish detergent
1 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup rubbing alcohol

Spray on. Wipe or squeegee dry.
